NIMONIC Alloy 115 is the highest-strength member of the NIMONIC series, a precipitation-hardenable nickel-chromium-cobalt-molybdenum superalloy containing balanced Ni, Cr 15, Co 15, Mo 3.5, Ti 4, and Al 5. The combined high cobalt and molybdenum contents provide exceptional solid-solution strengthening, while the high Al + Ti additions (9 total) produce a high volume fraction of gamma-prime precipitates for maximum precipitation-hardening response. NIMONIC 115 is engineered for the most demanding high-temperature applications, with service capability up to 1000°C (1830°F), making it suitable for advanced gas turbine blades, combustion chambers, and rocket engine components.

NIMONIC Alloy 115 is supplied in the heat-treated condition of 2175°F air cool plus 2010°F, producing yield strength of 862 MPa, tensile strength of 1241 MPa, elongation of 27%, and hardness of HRB 37. The high gamma-prime volume fraction delivers the highest mechanical strength in the NIMONIC family, with excellent creep resistance and thermal stability at extreme temperatures. The alloy is widely used in the hottest sections of advanced gas turbine engines, including high-pressure turbine blades, combustion liners, and rocket engine thrust chambers where maximum temperature capability and strength retention are critical design requirements.
