CHLORIMET 2 is a nickel-molybdenum cast alloy containing Ni bal and Mo 31.5, specifically designed for exceptional resistance to hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, and other strongly reducing chemicals at all concentrations and temperatures. The very high molybdenum content combined with the nickel base provides superior corrosion resistance in reducing environments where stainless steels and other Ni-Cr alloys fail. CHLORIMET 2 is widely used for cast valves, pumps, fittings, and chemical process equipment handling aggressive reducing media.

CHLORIMET 2 is supplied as castings in the 2100°F water-quenched condition, delivering yield strength of 317 MPa, tensile strength of 524 MPa, elongation of 20%, and hardness of 230 HB. The alloy is manufactured to ASTM A 744 (general applications castings) and ASTM A 494 (castings). The combination of high molybdenum content and water quenching ensures optimal corrosion resistance in reducing chemical environments. CHLORIMET 2 is widely used in chemical processing for handling hydrochloric acid, sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and other reducing chemicals.
