CHLORIMET 3 is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum cast alloy containing Ni bal, Cr 18.5, and Mo 18.5, designed for exceptional resistance to oxidizing and reducing corrosive media, including wet chlorine, hypochlorites, nitric acid, hydrochloric acid, and sulfuric acid mixtures. The balanced Cr + Mo composition provides versatile corrosion resistance in both oxidizing and reducing chemical environments. CHLORIMET 3 is widely used for cast valves, pumps, fittings, and chemical process equipment handling aggressive mixed media.

CHLORIMET 3 is supplied as castings in the 2100°F water-quenched condition, delivering yield strength of 317 MPa, tensile strength of 496 MPa, elongation of 25%, and hardness of 220 HB. The alloy is manufactured to ASTM A 744 (general applications castings) and ASTM A 494 (castings). The balanced Cr + Mo composition with water quenching provides excellent resistance to both oxidizing and reducing chemicals. CHLORIMET 3 is widely used in chemical processing for handling wet chlorine, hypochlorite solutions, mixed acid solutions, and other aggressive media.
