
Descripción General
ILLIUM B is a nickel-chromium-molybdenum-copper cast alloy containing Ni bal, Cr 28, Mo 8.5, Cu 5.5, and Si 3.5, specifically designed for exceptional resistance to hot concentrated sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, and oxidizing acid mixtures at elevated temperatures. The combination of high chromium and silicon content provides outstanding resistance to strong oxidizing acids, while the molybdenum and copper additions enhance resistance to reducing environments. ILLIUM B is widely used for cast valves, pumps, and chemical process equipment handling hot concentrated acids.

ILLIUM B is supplied as castings in the 2100°F air-cooled condition, delivering yield strength of 400 MPa, tensile strength of 414 MPa, elongation of 1%, and hardness of 221-420 HB. The low elongation (1%) and high hardness range indicate that the alloy is a hard, wear-resistant material suitable for cast components subject to erosion-corrosion. ILLIUM B is widely used in chemical processing for handling hot sulfuric acid, hot phosphoric acid, nitric acid, and mixed oxidizing acid solutions.
