
Overview
Ni200 (UNS N02200 / EN 2.4060 / NW2200) is a commercially pure wrought nickel grade containing a minimum of 99.0% nickel, offering an exceptional combination of corrosion resistance, mechanical strength, and fabricability. As the industry-standard commercially pure nickel grade, Ni200 is widely recognized and specified across chemical, electrochemical, food, pharmaceutical, and marine engineering applications.
Description (English)
Ni200 (UNS N02200 / 2.4060 / NW2200) is a high-purity commercially pure wrought nickel with nickel content of 99.0% minimum. The material exhibits a face-centered cubic (FCC) crystal structure that remains stable from cryogenic temperatures up to its melting point of 1435–1446°C, ensuring consistent mechanical performance across a wide temperature range. With a density of 8.89 g/cm³ and a Curie temperature of 360°C, Ni200 retains ferromagnetic properties below this transition point, making it suitable for electromagnetic and electronic applications. The grade demonstrates a thermal conductivity of 90.7 W/m·K and an electrical resistivity of 9.5 µΩ·cm, providing excellent conductive performance for current-carrying and heat-transfer components. Its low carbon content (≤0.15%) and tightly controlled impurity profile ensure superior corrosion resistance in reducing environments, particularly in caustic alkalis, neutral and alkaline salt solutions, and dry halogens. The alloy is readily fabricated through cold rolling, deep drawing, and stamping in the annealed condition, and can be welded using conventional TIG, MIG, and resistance methods without susceptibility to post-weld cracking. Ni200 is fully recrystallization-annealable, allowing recovery of ductility after cold working, and is 100% recyclable without degradation of intrinsic properties.
