Description (English)

Shanghai Vertex Alloy Co., Ltd (Vertex Alloy) supplies Monel Alloy 404 (UNS N04404) strip, wire, rod and bar to ASTM F96-77 (Reapproved 2015). F96 designates N04404 as Alloy 4 (55Ni-45Cu) under Table 1 — the standard specification for electronic-grade Cu-Ni alloys in wrought forms for electron devices. With Ni 52–57%, Cu balance and tight limits on Fe/Mn/Si/Al, N04404 achieves magnetic permeability μ ≈ 1.0017 (effectively non-magnetic, vacuum-level), Curie temperature ≤ -100 °C (well below ambient), and electrical resistivity 0.494 µΩ·m. The high Cu content delivers excellent brazing and ceramic-to-metal sealing — making 404 the standard choice for transistor headers, ceramic-to-metal seals, electron-tube components, relays, MRI-compatible fixturing and compass-free instruments. As with all Monel grades, it is a single-phase solid solution and cannot be hardened by heat treatment; strengthening is by cold work only, to about 850 MPa tensile maximum. Strip 0.05–3 mm, foil down to 0.01 mm on request, wire Ø 0.1–8 mm, rod/bar Ø 6–100 mm. Annealed tempers include controlled grain size for deep drawing per F96 Section 8. EN 10204 3.1 mill certificate. MONEL® is a registered trademark of Special Metals Corporation; Shanghai Vertex Alloy is not affiliated with Special Metals.
