Inconel 601(UNS N06601)-Chromium-Iron Alloy Plate / Sheet

Overview

Inconel 601 (UNS N06601 / Werkstoff 2.4851) is a nickel-chromium-iron solid-solution alloy containing approximately 60% nickel, 23% chromium, and 1.4% aluminum, with the balance being iron. The aluminum content combined with the high chromium level gives the alloy outstanding resistance to oxidation and other forms of high temperature corrosion, especially in cyclic thermal conditions. Inconel 601 is one of the standard workhorse alloys for service temperatures up to 1250 °C, providing excellent mechanical properties, goodmetallurgical stability, and resistance to creep, stress-rupture, and thermal fatigue. The alloy is non-magnetic, readily fabricated, weldable by all conventional methods, and approved for use under ASME Boiler and Pressure

Description (English)

Inconel 601 (UNS N06601 / Werkstoff 2.4851) is a nickel-chromium-iron solid-solution alloy containing approximately 60% nickel, 23% chromium, and 1.4% aluminum. The aluminum addition combined with the high chromium content gives the alloy outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation at temperatures up to 1250 °C, particularly under cyclic thermal conditions. The alloy retains excellent mechanical strength, creep resistance, and metallurgical stability across a wide temperature range, and resists chloride-ion stress-corrosion cracking. Inconel 601 is a standard workhorse material for industrial furnaces, heat-treating equipment, chemical process heaters, radiant tubes, and petrochemical components where long-term high-temperature performance is required.
