Overview

310 Stainless Steel Bar / Rod is a stainless steel bar/rod. Relevant grade or standard references include UNS S31000 (310) / S31008 (310S); JIS G4311; GB/T 1220. Typical applications include Furnace parts, burners, combustion chambers; Heat-treatment baskets, fixtures, and trays; Boiler and superheater tube supports; Petrochemical and refinery equipment.

Description (English)

310 stainless steel bar is supplied in hot-finished, cold-finished, or centerless-ground condition per ASTM A276 / A479. The alloy offers exceptional high-temperature strength and oxidation resistance combined with good fabrication characteristics. It is widely used in continuous-service applications up to 1150 °C and intermittent service up to 1035 °C. The alloy is not recommended for use in aqueous corrosive environments where standard 304/316 grades would be more cost-effective. For wet or chloride-containing service, 310S (low-carbon variant, UNS S31008) is typically specified to minimize sensitization and intergranular corrosion.
