2011 Aluminum Alloy Rod | Free-Machining Al-Cu-Pb-Bi Bar (ASTM B211)
1/5

Overview

2011 is a free-machining aluminum alloy of the Al-Cu-Pb-Bi system, designed specifically for high-speed machining operations. The addition of lead (0.2–0.6%) and bismuth (0.2–0.6%) produces short, easily broken chips, enabling high material removal rates and excellent surface finish. It has moderate to high strength but relatively poor corrosion resistance compared to other 2000-series alloys. It is commonly available as cold-finished or extruded rod, tube, and wire.
